A registered guest account is a free Ancestry® account. You have a registered guest account if you've never had a membership or your membership has ended.

Because registered guest accounts are free, there's no need to cancel them; you won't be billed for a free registered guest account. Discontinue use whenever you'd like.
All Ancestry accounts require an email address, and each email address may be used with only one Ancestry account. If you don’t have an email address, or if your email address is shared and is already connected to an Ancestry account, you’ll need to create a new email address to create your Ancestry account.

As a registered guest, you can't:
- View most records: You can search the site and see which records match your searches, but unless the records are free, you can't view record images or transcriptions (including those already attached to your trees).
- View public family trees (without being invited): If someone invites you to view their private or public tree, you can see it, whether or not you have a membership. Without a membership, you can't see public family trees you're not invited to view.
- See the lists of surnames and birth locations in your matches’ trees: If you've taken a DNA https://internalancestrysupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/53933269700243-/hc/en-us/articles/53933269959827-/hc/en-us/articles/53933318476179-/hc/en-us/articles/53933340474387-test and have a membership, you can see lists of last names and birth locations from their trees. This isn't available without a membership.
- View Common Ancestor Hints: If you've taken an https://internalancestrysupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/53933316730515-/hc/en-au/articles/53933330544787-Update-Q2-2022-218-New-Communities https://internalancestrysupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/53933269700243-/hc/en-us/articles/53933269959827-/hc/en-us/articles/53933318476179-/hc/en-us/articles/53933340474387-test and don't have a membership, you can't see the features that use the data from family trees.
