A “Willing to Help” badge on someone’s profile means they’re open to helping others on Ancestry. Click their name to visit their public profile and learn how they’re willing to help; then, send them a message. 

If you’re willing to help others with their research, add a “willing to help” badge to your profile. It lets membersf know they can message you for help, to connect, or to share information.

Turning the “willing to help” badge on or off 

1. In the top-right corner of Ancestry, click your profile and select Your Profile.
   
   Go to your profile
2. On the left, under Help others, select the ways you're willing to help:
   
   
   • Open to collaborating: Work with others on family research. 
   • Take photos: Take photos of buildings, landmarks, or tombstones. 
   • Find records: Upload documents from libraries, churches, historical societies, etc. 
   • Translate: Translate information to or from languages you know. 
   • Offer advice: Share your expertise with novice researchers. 
   
   These will be visible on your public member profile.
   
   To remove the “willing to help” badge, deselect all boxes.
