You can find people in your tree by searching for their names or looking for them in the tree’s list of all people
 

Searching by name

From a family tree 
 

  1. In the toolbar on the left, click the Find in tree person with a magnifying glass button. 
  2. In the opened side panel, enter someone's name. 
  3. In the drop-down menu that appears, click on their name to see them in the tree.

    If their name doesn’t appear, try:
    • Other names (like nicknames and names at birth) 
    • Alternate spellings
    • Using the "List of all people."


From a person’s profile page
 

  1. In the top-left corner, click Find in tree
  2. In the opened side panel, enter someone's name. 
  3. In the drop-down menu that appears, click on their name to go to their profile page.

    If their name doesn’t appear, try:
    • Other names (like nicknames and names at birth) 
    • Alternate spellings
    • Using the "List of all people."

 

Using the “List of all people”

  1. Go to your family tree. 
  2. In the toolbar on the left, click the Find in tree person with a magnifying glass button. 
  3. In the opened side panel, click on List of all people
  4. Look through the list of all people in your tree. Or, enter a name and click Search.  
    • Names are sorted alphabetically, starting with the last name, followed by the first and middle names (or initials).
      • Names starting with a number or a symbol appear at the top of the list.
      • People without a last name entered appear at the end of the list.
      • When no birth or death date or place is attached to a person, those columns will be blank.
    • By default, 20 people are listed per page. To load more names at once, increase the number of names per page in the bottom-left corner. 
    • To see more names, use the left and right arrows in the bottom-right corner to change pages. 
  5. Click on a name to view their profile page.
